The Lord's Faithfulness..

“In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.”__Hebrews 1:10

You hold all things in your hands Lord.. You laid and lay each and every foundation. You hear and fulfill.. You listen to the prayers of our hearts from long ago, and you fulfill them in your time. Will&Britt’s wedding made me stop and emotionally realize what a beautiful act of faithfulness you have done Lord. You found Dave and I and placed us together, before we even knew what you were doing.. I stopped and realized yesterday morning that I have waited my whole life, prayed for, and wished for a husband, the man that I will spend the rest of my life with.. And Lord, here he is.. Getting ready to marry me in 17 days.. My heart is swelling and bursting with joy and gratitude at your faithfulness. My mind cannot fathom your endless love!

Isaiah 60:5

In my daily reading today I came upon the most beautiful verse.. A verse that truly sums up how I have been feeling lately as we look forward to the wedding... I know this is my wedding verse.. My version is NIV and says:

"And then you will look and be radiant, and your heart will throb and swell with joy.."

I loved it so much, I found other versions.. equally amazing, and eqaully adding to my JOY!

"When you see them coming you'll smile—big smiles! Your heart will swell and, yes, burst!" (The Msg)

"Your eyes will shine, and your heart will thrill with joy," (NLT)

"Then you shall see and be radiant; your heart shall thrill and exult." (ESV)

Even better yet.. in text context, this verse is talking about God's Kingdom of light.. God's desire to make us shine, to provide for us, and to love us and lift us up to be with Him...

You'll Come

Let us acknowledge the LORD;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth."
--Hosea 6:3

I have decided I have resolved
To wait upon you Lord
My rock and redeemer shall not be moved
I’ll wait upon you Lord
As surely as the sun will rise
You’ll come to us
As certain as the dawn appears
You'll come let your glory fall
As you respond to us
Spirit reign flood our hearts
With holy fire again
We are not shaken we are not moved
We wait upon you Lord
Our Mighty deliverer my triumph and truth
I'll wait upon you Lord
Chains be broken
Lives be healed
Eyes be opened
Christ is revealed

The skies, and the flowers.

I went on the most amazing early morning run today.
I haven't done that in ages.
The sky was just turning from night into morning, and the clouds were illuminated breathtakingly by the sunrise.
I was reminded of Psalm 19:1
"The Heavens declare the glory of God. The skies proclaim the work of His hands."

Along my run, I came upon a beautiful field of sunflowers.. And again, I was reminded of a sweet truth that one of my old Bible study girls shared with me.. She told me that Sunflowers always turn to face the sun.. And amazingly enough.. I have witnessed that over and over.. All of the sunflowers in the field were facing the sun..

I took that to heart.. wanting to be like a sunflower.. and face the Son. Jesus that is.

That is my goal today.. to soak up the sweet aroma of Jesus, while basking in awe at the work of His hands.

Summer Season

Seasons.. So many seasons have come and gone recently.. 2009 alone has been one of the most transitional seasons I think I have ever experienced. From finishing college, to Bekah’s wedding, then oh my, New York City!!! Marie Claire, and traveling, then getting ENGAGED.. Having a long distance relationship, then moving back to Colorado, living with the grandparents, getting a full time job!!! Adjusting to the working lifestyle, going to bed early, waking up early, being a fiancĂ©, which has been so fun.. Wedding planning, so much back and forth between grandmas and the Heintz’s. Whew, and its only July!
July 1st today.. and a new season starts..

Today, on the start of a new month, a new season, I ask your hand over us Lord, your loving guidance and counsel to lead and direct us where to go. I ask you to prove mighty with Dave’s knee surgery today and in his recovery.

“The Lord gives strength to His people. The Lord blesses His people with peace.”
__Psalm 29:11
“But I trust in you God, I say you are my God and my times are in your hands..”
Dave and I trust in you God. You are OUR God and OUR times are in YOUR hands.
__Ps. 31:14-15

I've Just Arrived

I think most people begin a new blog with the same thought.. "I've never blogged before, but I've decided I am going to give it a try and start today.."

Since I have now embarked on a brand new journey, a journey far far away from home, I figured this would be the best way to keep everyone updated.. Hopefully it will also help make me more aware and observant of all I am experiencing in New York City..

Coming to NYC has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I feel truly favored and blessed that God made this happen for me..

In case you are unsure why in the world I am here in New York in the first place..

I am completing my degree at Colorado State in Apparel and Merchandising, and in order to complete that degree we have to do a 10 week internship in the fashion industry.. I am interning at Marie Claire, the magazine, and am so excited for this experience... My position is based in the Fashion Closet, and there I will be working with all of the merchandise for the magazine, and alongside Nina Garcia, the new Fashion Director at Marie Claire.. for any of you who know her.. this is an exciting and big deal!!!

In addition to the many many ways the Lord has blessed me with living here, my housing situation couldn't be any more perfect.. 3 of the most amazing girls, and wow, am I blessed to be in such a BIG, SPACIOUS, house in Manhattan. with these girls.. PTL!!

It is quite cold here, and New Yorkers are critiqued for being cold themself, so I am hoping to bring some sunshine to this big city, while being a light to the fashion industry..

I begin tomorrow, and I have pondered over and over my thoughts about this, and really I am nearly thoughtless as I want to go into this with no expectations, that way there leaves no room for let-downs or unexpected happenings..
I do not know what my experience will be like, what the other girls will be like, or my boss, or if this will be Devil wears Prada-ish..

However, amongst all of these unknowns, what I do know is that I am acting out of obedience to God.. I feel called here this semester, and know that I have a deeper vision and purpose for being here.. I am not here just to get to run around the city, get ahead in the fashion world, or live a life that mimicks reality tv.. On the contrary I am here as an ambassador for Christ.. and the verse I have claimed is Zechariah 2:10 and it says "Shout and be glad Daughter Zion, for I am going with you and will live among you."

The Lord is with me, and He has come before me to level the mountains, and I believe He will continue to do so..

Thank you all for your excitement and support for me, and prayers.. I will need them throughout this journey.. Prayers for safety, and direction and courage to be bold!

My first day is tomorrow, so I will have an update soon..
